Vladimir
Putin (born 7 October 1952) is the president of Russia. He is serving as the
president since 2012. Before being the president, he was the foreign
intelligence officer and served almost for 16 years. Today, world recognizes
him as one of the most strategic and powerful person.
Early Life
Born
in Leningrad, Soviet Union of the then time, Putin accomplished his degree in
Law from Leningrad State University. Then after resignation of the president of
the Russia in 1999, he became president. He was re-elected president again in
2004. Putin’s birth was headed by the death of two brothers, Viktor and Albert,
born in the mid-1930s. Albert died in infancy and Viktor died of diphtheria in
Second World War. His mother used to work at factory and his father used to
work as a recruitment officer in Soviet Navy. His father extremely wounded in 1942 and his
grandmother was killed by German invaders.
Political Career
Putin
was appointed in the post of international affair in 1990. On the same way, he got in the post of First
Deputy Chairman of the Government of Saint Petersburg. In June 1996 Putin was
appointed as Deputy Chief of the Presidential Property Management Department.
In 1997, the then president Boris Yeltsin appointed him as the deputy chief of
presidential staff.
Finally
on 9 August 1999, he became Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian
Federation. It was the same year in December; he became Acting president of the
country. Still he is serving as the president of the Russia.
Family Life
Putin
married Lyudmila Shakrebneva in 1983 (on 28 July). After getting married they
began to live in Germany. They gave birth to two children, both of them are
daughters: Mariya and Yekaterina. However their marital life halted since 2013
as Putin announced their marriage to be over. They got divorce and separated.
Religion
Putin
is a Christina. His mother is a very devoted Christian who used to go to
Russian Orthodox Church. However Putin began to devote himself in religion
after a horrible car crash in 1993. It was a life threatening accident.
When asked in 2007
whether he believes in God, he responded, "... There are things I believe,
which should not in my position, at least, be shared with the public at large
for everybody's consumption because that would look like self-advertising or a political
